Current Master of Music violinist Lucy Wang was among the winners of the 2018 Canada Council Musical Instrument Bank Competition. The prize includes a three-year loan of a 1715 Dominicus Montagnana violin. She is among five Colburn students and alumni who have won loans of the coveted instruments. Artist Diploma pianist SunHwa Kim won third prize in the Kerikeri International Piano Competition in New Zealand, which included a cash award of $4,000 New Zealand dollars (roughly $2500 US dollars).
