Korean pianist SooJin Cha will present a diverse array of classical music facets to the audience through this performance.
The program opens with Mozart’s Sonata, offering a glimpse into the unique atmosphere and distinctive sound of Salzburg, Mozart’s hometown, where she resides.
The second piece features Chopin’s ‘Andante Spianato and Grande Polonaise Brillante’, contrasting the lyrical and serene Andante Spianato with the brilliant and majestic Polonaise, highlighting Chopin’s Romantic essence.
Following a brief intermission, Schumann’s ‘Humoreske’ will be performed, a nearly 30-minute work encapsulating the love between Robert and Clara, the contrast between harsh reality and an ideal world, and the dual nature of humanity with its complex emotions.
The recital concludes with two of Kapustin’s Etudes, characterized by rich jazz harmonies and impulsive, improvisational rhythms that will refreshingly stimulate your senses.
