Kris Bowers has scored some of the most popular films and television series this decade, including the Netflix hits Bridgerton and Inventing Anna and the Academy Award-winning King Richard and Green Book. Most recently he composed the original score for Chevalier, a historical drama inspired by composer and violin virtuoso Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges, to be released in April.
Kris discusses the process and technique of film scoring with John Houlihan, a veteran of the music and film industries. A film studio music executive, independent music supervisor, and music producer, John has helped shape the music of more than 100 feature films, numerous television episodes and dozens of popular soundtrack albums. This conversation is presented as part of the Colburn School’s Amplify Series.
