Mailing of I-20s

The Colburn School is pleased to make available FedEx and UPS for the mailing of immigration documents (I-20s) to students overseas who are applying for F-1 visas. To receive your I-20, you must make a request using eShip Global Shipment of your I-20 will be at your (the student’s) expense and must be paid via credit card through eShip Global’s secure website.

Please note that I-20s can be sent electronically via email, in accordance with current SEVP guidance. If you receive your I-20 electronically, you are responsible for printing a hard copy and signing it in ink. Electronic signatures are not permitted in the student attestation section of the form. Be sure to carry the printed and signed I-20 with you when applying for your visa and traveling to the U.S.

To request a mailed copy, follow the directions below (and the instructions on eShip Global’s website) to request a shipment. Do not go through the FedEx and UPS websites directly. If this is your first time using eShip Global, you must create and activate an account.

Step 1
Sign in to eShip Global and choose “Receive Documents from your University.”

Step 2
Type in “Colburn” in the search box or click on the state of California and scroll down to “The Colburn School.”

Step 3
Choose the division in which you’ll be enrolling – either the Conservatory of Music or the Music Academy.

Step 4
Enter your shipping information under “Receiver’s Address.”

Step 5
Select either FedEx or UPS as a shipping service.

Step 6
Enter your credit card information and confirm payment. Please pay very close attention to the text you enter, as any errors made in your credit card information or submitting an incomplete address will result in a delay of the I-20 mailing.

After you complete the payment process, we will be able to print the shipping label for your document.
