Humanities Faculty
Yang has taught at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, University of California, San Diego, University of Southern California, and Minerva University, where she founded and led the faculty diversity, equity, and inclusion committee. In addition to teaching at Colburn, Yang has a thriving hypnotherapy practice, in which she helps artists overcome performance anxiety and creative blocks.

Wellness Faculty
Dr. Janice Ying is a board certified orthopedic physical therapist and the founder of Opus Physical Therapy and Performance based in Los Angeles, CA.
Clarinet Faculty
At 17, Michael made his solo debut performing the Mozart Clarinet Concerto with the Honolulu Symphony as a winner of their Young Artists Concerto Competition.
Double Bass Faculty
A former member of the Rochester Philharmonic, Dallas Symphony, and Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, David is currently principal bass with the LA Opera Orchestra and Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra.
Guitar Faculty
Erin has a passion for playing early plucked instruments and has performed with the early music ensemble, Ciaramella, and plays frequently with the Los Angeles based Delirium Musicum ensemble.

Kenton Youngstrom, guitarist, composer, and educator is the first in a long line of prize-winning students of Jim Smith at the University of Southern California, where, while earning his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees, he studied composition with Donald Crockett, arranging with Darniell Pershing, and film scoring with David Raksin.
