How Frank Gehry’s new design for Colburn concert hall could transform arts in L.A.
Colburn is announcing plans to build a concert hall, performance plaza and dance studios designed by Frank Gehry on the site. It will not only serve an institution that looks after the music and dance education of students from infants to seniors but will also reach out to and offer a civic gathering place for a broad public.

Colburn School Unveils Frank Gehry-Designed Campus Expansion, The Latest Addition To Downtown LA’s Cultural Corridor
One of Los Angeles’ most prestigious performing arts schools is pulling back the curtain on a 100,000 square foot expansion to its Downtown Los Angeles campus designed by acclaimed architect Frank Gehry. Air Talk host Larry Mantle interviews Frank Gehry and Colburn School President Sel Kardan.
Frank Gehry Design for Los Angeles Performing Arts Campus Unveiled
Dubbed the Colburn Center, the expansion will join the Walt Disney Concert Hall and a two-tower, mixed-use complex still under construction, forming a three-block district of Gehry’s work in the heart of his hometown.
