The Colburn School recognizes the importance and responsibility to serve its student body, the Los Angeles community, and the performing arts community at large. The School continually evaluates ways to engage, support, and evolve to meet the changing needs of these connected groups.

The Center for Innovation and Community Impact exists to develop young artists to serve their communities while building fulfilling, sustainable careers. The Center serves all units of Colburn and offers innovative programming in the areas of entrepreneurship, community engagement, and more. With a huge focus on community engagement, a suite of pipeline programs were designed to equitably engage low-income students from our local community in rigorous, fully scholarship-supported musical study.

Colburn Connected is our online portal to help you stay connected to the performing arts while we continue to socially distance. Performances, interviews, news, and any other entertaining and informative content coming out of the School will be curated here for your enjoyment. The show must go on, and the entire Colburn community is still working to create and produce beautiful works to share with the world.

The Ziering-Conlon Initiative for Recovered Voices is a unique Colburn resource that encourages greater awareness and more frequent performances of music by composers whose careers and lives were disrupted—or worse—during the years of the Nazi regime in Europe. The School offers a number of educational and performance resources with the goal of cultivating understanding and appreciation for these important works.
