Your enthusiastic company and philanthropic support are requested for Celebrate Colburn Gala 2025, our hallmark annual event that raises vital funds to provide students with access to excellence through scholarships and academic programs. This year we honor the remarkable contributions of our esteemed Civic Honoree, Richard W. Colburn, and Legacy Honorees, Dr. Herbert Zipper (1904–1997) and Trudl Dubsky Zipper (1913–1976).
Join us in the Colburn School’s 75th anniversary year as we celebrate these extraordinary individuals with an inspiring day of music, dance, and community.

Our festivities begin with a morning reception on the South Plaza, where you’ll enjoy the company of Colburn’s vibrant community of friends, families, and philanthropists. Following the reception, enjoy a full program featuring dazzling performances by our talented Colburn artists—the future of dance and music in Los Angeles and beyond! Experience what makes Colburn an enduring institution for excellence, with performers Mark Swed called “the best of youth” in the December powerful performances commentary in the Los Angeles Times:
“What Salonen got from these gifted players was adrenaline. They didn’t hold back. They didn’t think about reserving their fingers or lips for a performance tomorrow and the next day. They met challenges. Once again, here was the best of youth, with a single purpose along with the skill and will to overcome all difficulties.”
The celebration continues with a jubilant luncheon on the Colburn Plaza, where you’ll dine, be delighted by Colburn Serenades, and toast to the enduring legacy of the Colburn School.
Your enthusiastic presence and philanthropic support are essential to this memorable event. Together, we honor the past, celebrate the present, and invest in the future of the arts.
