Creative Dramatics Ages 5–7 In this class, imagination is key. Young students engage in creative thinking through movement, theater games, and improvisations. Students dramatize stories and poems as well as come up with original stories. The Creative Dramatics class is recommended as preparation for Drama I.
Drama I/II Ages 8–15 This summer class advances students’ understanding of drama through movement, theater games, and improvisations, all key to scene development. Students continue to develop their creative potential as they learn about different dramatic literature. Drama I/II builds on improvisation, scene work, and basic acting skills, but supplemented with voice use and body movement.

Group Guitar: Adult Beginner Ages 18 and up Discover the joy of making music with our Adult Beginning Guitar class! Designed for beginners, this engaging course helps you build your skills, explore different styles, and play with confidence.
Group Guitar: Adult Intermediate Ages 18 and up Designed for intermediate guitar players, this engaging course helps you build your skills, explore different styles, and play with confidence.
Group Guitar: Beginning I Ages 6–18 Students develop the three essential techniques for a comprehensive mastery of the guitar – strumming, arpeggiation and single-line – through repertoire that ranges from classical, jazz, pop and ethnic music.
Group Guitar: Beginning II Ages 6–18 Students develop the three essential techniques for a comprehensive mastery of the guitar – strumming, arpeggiation and single-line – through repertoire that ranges from classical, jazz, pop and ethnic music.
Group Guitar: Intermediate Ages 6–18 Prior lessons or prior enrollment in CSPA Group Guitar: Beginning II is highly recommended for enrollment on this course.
Group Guitar: Advanced Ages 6–18 Prior lessons or group class enrollment in CSPA Guitar II or Guitar III is highly recommended.
Guitar Ensemble Ages 6 and up Enjoy learning new repertoire from around the world and through the centuries specially curated for guitar trios, quartets and quintets!
Adult Jazz Workshop Ages 18 and up Colburn’s Adult Jazz Workshops consist of musicians who are proficient on their instruments and experienced in jazz studies. Various styles of jazz repertoire are explored and learned aurally along with discussion of theory and approaches to improvisation. This ensemble is a great opportunity to grow individually and as a cohesive unit in an encouraging, challenging environment. All instruments, including strings and vocalists, are welcome.
Summer Music Theory Intensives cover a year’s curriculum over the course of 4 weeks. The classes meet for 1.5 hours each day, 4 days per week, with about an hour of homework every day. These intensives allow students to efficiently review past material or get ahead for the following year.
