Founding faculty member of the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts and was Musical Director for West Side Story, A Chorus Line, Fiddler on the Roof (featuring Josh Groban), Evita, Carousel, Jesus Christ Superstar, and 42nd Street, and many others; Composed two operas: The Magician, The Happy Prince, and the musicals Ollie’s Oasis, Life Is A Song and Dance and Calcutta Rose, about Mother Theresa; Mr. Giliens’ latest work Civicus Dutius, which was premiered by the Cal State L.A. department of Theatre Arts and Dance; Nominated for a Lester Horton Award for outstanding achievement in music for dance for his work with legendary Rudy Perez; former director of music for Lynwood United Methodist Church; Current organist of Downey United Methodist Church, music staff of University S.D.A. church, and faculty accompanist for the Trudl Zipper Dance Institute at The Colburn School.
