Colburn Café
Visit the Colburn Café on November 12 to be transported back in time to 18th-century Germany, with a free performance by the Colburn Baroque Ensemble. For one day only, the Ensemble will become the Colburn Conservatory Collegium Musicum, presenting a series of works by Johann Sebastian Bach and recreating his famous performances with the Leipzig Collegium Musicum in the Café Zimmerman.
Café Zimmermann was one of the first notable coffeehouses of the Baroque period, and Bach frequently performed instrumental and vocal music there with students from Leipzig University.
Enjoy arias, suites, and concertos by Bach, including the beloved B-Minor Ouverture BWV 1067 for Flute and Orchestra, and the lively and festive 2nd Brandenburg Concerto. The concert also features Community School of Performing Arts member and soprano Jennifer Kampani.
