Annie Bosler of our College Prep for Musicians course and Conservatory alumnus Ryan Darke joined us and shared their best admissions and auditions tips for our families getting ready for college applications. We also took a look back at October at Colburn and looked ahead to what’s in store for November. As always, we took plenty of breaks to bring you great performances from faculty, students, and alumni.

This month, we got the first look at our Fall Season programming, sat down with Dr. Kristi Brown-Montesano about her new course on Beethoven’s landmark Ninth Symphony, and screened performances of a violin and piano showpiece, our Colburn Jazz Big Band Workshop, and the 2016 Colburn Orchestra.

In addition to our regular pop-up on the plaza, this special installment of Office Hours will feature a Help Desk for our students preparing for college auditions. Drop by the plaza to have your questions answered by seasoned Conservatory students who have just gone through the process. You can also come up to the 5th floor lounge of the Olive building for a mock audition experience led by our Provost, Dr. Adrian Daly and a panel with current Conservatory students moderated by Conservatory Dean, Lee Cioppa.

We’ll have friendly (and caffeinated) experts available to chat about writing tips, provide quick resume reviews, and answer your questions about the college admissions process generally.
We’ll also be raffling off prizes, including tickets for See the Music, Hear the Dance, featuring Conservatory students and New York City Ballet’s Lauren Lovette and Craig Hall.
