Let us know you’re coming to the Colburn School’s first Alumni Reunion Night! In addition to Makiko Hirata’s inspired program around the life of composer Ernst Toch, we’ll host pre-concert bites and a full reception on our fifth floor lobby and patio (weather permitting) with food, ping pong, a photobooth, and more.
All events are free for alumni and their guests with an RSVP. There will be complimentary campus parking available for the evening or a $10 Lyft credit for the duration of the festivities.

Ernst Toch’s life and work are explored in historical context as pianist Makiko Hirata performs pieces in chronological order with narration from Toch’s grandson, author Lawrence Weschler. The program goes from the beginning with the Brahms and Mozart of Toch’s early days in Europe through Toch’s very last piano pieces written in Southern California in 1962.

Following the concert, make your way up to our terrace for dinner, beverages, ping pong, and conversation under the night sky.
