Leading guest artists from San Francisco Ballet (SFB) collaborate with the Colburn Conservatory in a performance and discussion illuminating the creative process. The centerpiece of the program is the duet from Benjamin Millepied’s Appassionata, which is set to a Beethoven piece of the same name. Following a performance of the work, faculty member and dance historian Jill Nunes Jensen will moderate a conversation with the dancers and pianist about the choreography and music, the process of preparing the piece, and the experience of working and performing together.
Following the 5 pm performance, attendees are invited to stay for an intimate meet-and-greet with the artists.
SFB’s Jennifer Stahl and Steven Morse appear through the courtesy of San Francisco Ballet, Tamara Rojo, Artistic Director.
For the first time, this annual event will take place in the intimate space of 2245, the home of LA Dance Project.
Additional Performances: Sunday, November 3 at 2 pm
