Cellist Nina Lee of the acclaimed Brentano Quartet brings a "bold, wholly convincing" presence to a program of striking range and depth. Mozart's Piano Quartet in E-flat, one of the first ever written for the form, opens with grace and wit. Nielsen's Wind Quintet charms with offbeat character, Akiho's Aluminous electrifies with rhythm and color, and Shostakovich's String Quartet No. 8 closes like a reckoning—haunting, searing, and unforgettable. This performance will be livestreamed.
