Duet with Film

Bring your dance vision to life on film

Explore the exciting intersection of dance and filmmaking in this six-week immersive course designed for dancers, choreographers, filmmakers, and creatives interested in movement on screen. Whether you’re looking to deepen an existing practice or discover a new artistic medium, Duet with Film will guide you through every stage of creating a compelling dance film. Led by Kelly Hargraves, Executive & Artistic Director of Dance Camera West, students will learn both theoretical and practical approaches to dance filmmaking, including:

+ Concept Development
+ Choreography for Camera
+ Cinematography
+ Site-Specific Filmmaking
+ Editing & Post-Production
+ Collaborative Production Techniques

Participants will work together as cast and crew, with dedicated time and space to develop and produce original dance films throughout the session. The course culminates in a public film screening and artist feedback panel on October 22, 2026.

Registration opens on July 20 for returning Colburn students and on July 27 for new students.
