At Colburn’s Community School of Performing Arts, ensembles are a major element of students’ musical training. There are over 36 ensembles, including offerings for band, chamber, jazz, orchestra, choral, and more.
Auditions are required for all ensembles.
The Community School also provides several group classes to explore, including group instrumental classes, drama, music theory, and Dalcroze Eurythmics. Dalcroze philosophy relies on solfege, eurhythmics, and improvisation. For students interested in music theory and Dalcroze, an assessment must be completed before enrolling in a class.
For those seeking engaging camps after the school year ends, the Community School offers programming to provide high-quality arts training. Summer programming engages students ages eight through adult, with programs for brass, jazz, piano, vocal, string, and percussion students.
