Hailed as “superb” by the San Francisco Classical Voice, Alex Granger is a dynamic and versatile artist recognized for a deep commitment to chamber music and mentorship.
A dedicated interpreter of the classical canon, Alex performs extensively with the Webern Quartet—most recent highlights include a celebrated residency performing the complete Arnold Schoenberg string quartets at the Arnold Schoenberg Center in Vienna, followed by a commercial recording of these works in Germany. His performances have been broadcast on NPR, reviewed in The New Yorker, featured in Strings Magazine, praised in the American Record Guide, and captured on major recording labels such as Warner Classics and the Belgian label Etcetera.
Based in Southern California, Alex is a familiar face on Los Angeles’s most vibrant concert series, appearing regularly with his quartet. In the orchestral world, Alex performs as a guest with the Pacific Symphony and San Diego Symphony. Equally passionate about pedagogy, Alex maintains a thriving private studio at Colburn where his students have gone on to study at top-tier conservatories.
