Saxophone Faculty
Consistently acknowledged as America’s foremost classical saxophonist
Chamber Music Faculty
Qian is also keen on teaching and community engagements. Together with Midori Goto, she has interacted with local communities in Los Angeles, Mexico, and Sri Lanka. A former chamber music faculty at the Tianjin Juilliard School Pre-College division, she is currently an instructor of the music minor/non-major program at USC Thornton of School of Music. 
Piano Faculty
Yung-mee Rhee is an accomplished pianist and teacher, and adjudicator of the annual Southwestern Youth Music Festival and Music Teachers National Association Bartok Competition.
Chair, Music Theory, Colburn Community School
Kathy Sawada has taught piano and music theory classes at the Colburn School’s Community School of Performing Arts since 1990.
Violin Faculty
Richard Schwabe, violin instructor and longtime chair of the String Department at the Colburn School’s Community School of Performing Arts, holds music degrees from the University of Southern California (BM) and the University of Michigan (MM).
Music Theory Faculty, Coordinator, Intro to Chamber Music
Dr. Schweitzer has performed with Yo Yo Ma’s Silk Road Ensemble, and has toured throughout China, Japan, South America, Canada and the United States. She has appeared on numerous occasions with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and has performed chamber music concerts with its members.
