Join Us for Grand Ave Arts: All Access 2026!

Once again, the Colburn School looks forward to participating in the annual Grand Ave Arts: All Access event. Take a look at what’s in store for this year’s all-day extravaganza featuring the thriving arts neighborhood along Grand Avenue in Downtown Los Angeles.

In three weeks, there will be horns blown in Downtown Los Angeles. There will be a consort of voices raised. There will be the sound of feet tapping in unison. And that’s just a sampling of what will be happening at the Colburn School during the 2026 Grand Ave Arts: All Access celebration on Saturday, October 24 from 11 am to 4 pm.

For the past 10 years, the annual free event has invited Angelenos to experience first-hand the many arts and cultural institutions calling the Grand Avenue neighborhood home. From Temple to 6th Streets, the avenue will transform into an artistic, exploratory, and joyful outdoor playground (rain or shine) for all ages. More than a dozen organizations, including Colburn, will create interactive experiences or open their doors for the public to catch a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the famous venues.

Leading the orchestra on the Conduct Us stage.

For this year’s activities, Colburn is bringing back some all-time favorites, including the Instrument Petting Zoo, where you’re encouraged to be inquisitive and hands-on with a variety of musical instruments. Also making an encore is the fun Conduct Us stage where visitors lead a live orchestra of Colburn students with a little help from Salonen Conducting Fellow Mert Yalniz. And it wouldn’t be a Colburn celebration without a lively performance of the Conservatory Brass from high up in our Grand Ave. balcony.

Young dancers work through choreography.

Children explore the drama of the arts.

Colburn students perform on the plaza.

And there’s so much more: a Theatre Workshop, Creative Dance Class for children ages 4-8, and Pre-ballet Open Class (ages 4 and 5) introduce the world of drama and dance in fun, creative snippets. Speaking of dance, come watch our Modern Dance and Tap students showcase their talents in live performances on the Colburn Plaza. Other offerings include Suzuki Strings and piano performances, the Concert Choir harmonies, and be sure to drop in for our Library Live Student Chamber Ensemble presentation.

Also, the following Grand Avenue organizations will add to the fun with unique experiences such as:
