Choral Tour 2027

In May 2027 a choral tour is planned to New York City, culminating in a performance at Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium. Our singers will perform the world premiere of Stacey Gibbs’ Testify with the New England Symphonic Ensemble, conducted by the composer.

In 2025 the Colburn Concert Choir took a national tour to Washington, D.C. as part of the 2025 National Memorial Day Choral Festival, with performances at the Kennedy Center and the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

2027 Tour Details:

The trip will take place Wednesday, May 26th through Sunday, May 30th, 2027 (Memorial Day Weekend) in partnership with MidAmerica Productions (MAP). The anticipated cost is approximately $3,600 per person and will include:

    • Three rehearsals and one performance at Carnegie Hall
    • A post-performance dinner cruise around the Statue of Liberty and Lower Manhattan
    • Four nights at a four-star Midtown Manhattan hotel, based on quad occupancy (triple, double, and single occupancy available for an additional fee)
    • Roundtrip nonstop airfare from LAX
    • At least one additional solo concert at a church or similar performance venue
    • Sightseeing activities, to be determined
    • Premium Carnegie Hall concert tickets for non-performing travelers

The tour will be open to all Concert Choir students, who may travel independently, as well as Youth Chorus students, who must be accompanied by a chaperone. Parents and family members are also welcome to join us, and chaperones will be needed.

Please note that the trip is offered as a complete package, so all travelers, including non-performing family members and chaperones, will be responsible for the full per-person tour cost.

We also anticipate offering interest-free payment plans for families who would like to spread the cost over time.

This is the preliminary information available at this time, and additional details regarding registration, payment schedules, sightseeing, and other logistics will be shared soon.
