Los Angeles Brass Institute
Spend your summer in the heart of downtown, Los Angeles, at the Colburn School of Music. Colburn’s Los Angeles Summer Brass Institute offers an immersive experience of all the best the brass world has to offer. Daily activities include group warm-ups, large brass ensemble, chamber music, rhythm workshops, and masterclasses by some of today’s most active and respected artists.
All ensembles will be led by the Colburn School’s brass faculty.
The Los Angeles Brass Institute is comprised of two concurrently-running groups: the Advanced and Intermediate Seminars. The Advanced Seminar is open to experienced brass players at the collegiate or the upper-advanced high school levels. The Intermediate Seminar is open to upper-intermediate high school and advanced junior-high school players.
The Brass Intensive and the faculty’s influence made me realize that is actually what I want to do with my life. It was probably the experience that developed me more as a player than ever before in my life. Over those two weeks my sound completely changed.Suzy Belik – French Horn, 2022 Summer Brass Intensive
